How to add your social media handle so people can find you
Basics
To link your social media accounts in OneContact, you’ll need to enter the username or handle you use on each platform (not the full URL).
Your handle is the unique name people use to find you, usually shown with an @.
If you’re not sure where to find it, use the official resources below. These pages are maintained by each platform, so they’ll stay accurate even if layouts change.
Note: Some of the resources below explain how to change your username. You do not need to change anything — these pages also show you where to find your current username or handle, which is all you need for OneContact.

Do both people need OneContact?

Yes. OneContact works through mutual connections so updates are intentional, private, and controlled.
What kind of info can I share?

What happens when I update my info?

Your changes instantly sync to the people you’re connected with. No texts, emails, or reminders needed on your part!
What are Personal Notes and Tags?

Personal Notes let you add private reminders to fully connected contacts. These notes are only visible to you, your connection will never see them. You can use Personal Notes to remember details like relationships, context, or helpful reminders (for example, “Jim’s sister” or “Rec League Softball Coach”).
Tags are used to help you group your connected contacts. Just like Private Notes, your tags are not visible to your connection. You can sort your contacts by tag by clicking the "..." in the top right of the Contacts section.
Can other people see my Personal Notes or Tags?

No. Personal Notes and Tags are for your reference only and are never shared. Since OneContact is designed for contacts to keep their own information up to date, Personal Notes and Tags help you remember details about that person when you need a reminder.

What do the colored circles around my contacts mean?

Each contact has a colored ring that shows which card you are sharing with that contact. When you create a card you are required to give it a color. That color directly corrosponds to the circle you see around your contacts.
Why didn’t I get a connection request notification?

Check your device settings to make sure notifications are enabled for OneContact. If notifications are off, connection requests may still appear in the app but won’t trigger an alert.
Why is my password being rejected?

This usually means one of the password requirements is missing. Double-check that your password is at least 8 characters, includes upper and lowercase letters, a number, and a special character.
How do I reset my password?

If you’re signed in, go to Settings and tap Change Password. If you can’t log in, open the app, tap Already have an account, then select Forgot Password and follow the prompts.
How do I contact support?

How do I refresh or resync my data?
Basics
OneContact uses live connections, so updates sync automatically. If something looks out of date, close and reopen the app and make sure you have an internet connection.
How do I change the Theme?

You can change the theming in OneContact by navigating to Settings, and clicking one of the options below:
Dark, this is the default and will make the background black
Light, this will make the background white
System, this match the light or dark mode setting you have specified in your phone's settings
How do I change what someone sees?

Edit the card you shared with that connection. Any changes to that card will update for everyone you’ve shared it with.
Can I sort Contacts?

You can filter Contacts by clicking the "..." in the top right corner of the Contacts section. You can sort by:
First Name
Last Name
Shared Card - This will group all your contacts based off the card being shared and then by either first name or last name
Tag - This will group all your contacts based off the tags you created and then by either first name or last name. If a contact has multiple tags, they will appear in each tagged section. John has a 2 tags, "Softball" and "School Friends." John will appear in both Softball and School Friends tagged sections.
Can I lock the app so people can't open my contacts?

Yes! You can enable FaceID, Fingerprins, or your device passcode to open OneContact by navigating to Settings, toggle on App Lock
Why can’t I see all of someone’s information?

They control what they share. You are seeing what they want you to see.
How do I turn phone sync on or off?
Basics
Phone sync can be turned on or off anytime from the Sync to Device section in app.
Why do I see duplicate contacts on my phone?
Basics
OneContact creates its own contacts in your phone and manages those contacts. OneContact contacts will have a blue circle around them so you can easily idetify which contacts came from OneContact. If you already saved the same person from another source, both may appear when viewing all contacts together.
OneContact contacts can’t be merged with existing contacts, so you can choose to keep or delete the other entry. If you delete or change the OneContact contact, any deletions or changes will revert to the details being shared within OneContact on the next sync.
I don't see my friends in the app
Basics
That's completely normal, especially while OneContact is still growing. OneContact becomes more valuable as more people join and connect. If your friends aren't here yet, invite them! Every new connection makes it easier to keep contact information up to date for everyone.
The more people who use OneContact, the more useful it becomes and your invitation helps make that happen.
Why am I not getting verification emails?

How do I know who I shared a specific card with?

There are 2 ways to figure this out.
The circle around the contact will corrospond to the card color you set for the card.
You can sort contacts by Shared Card. You can do this by navigating to Contacts, clicking "..." in the top right corner, and selecting Sort by Shared Card
I deleted the app and reinstalled it, why did things change?

Local settings like phone sync or notifications may reset, but your account data remains intact.
Can I replay the tutorial?

I logged in on a new phone, where is my data?

Sign in with the same method you originally used. Your account and connections will load automatically.
I connected to the wrong person, what should I do?

If the request hasn’t been accepted yet, you can find it in Requests & Blocks and cancel it. If the request was already accepted, simply disconnect from that user to stop sharing.
How do I make changes to what people see in Search?

Search requires a First Name, Last Name, and Username. You can optionally add a Photo, Email, or Phone number. If you would like to modify these settings navigate to Settings, and click edit in Account Settings
Why am I seeing multiple people with the same name?

OneContact shows real people, and names aren’t always unique. Tap a profile to view more details and confirm the correct connection before sending a request.
I can’t find someone in Search, why?
Basics
You can search by username, first name, and last name. These three fields are mandatory and visible within Search. Some users may also choose to share their email or phone number. If none of those return results, the user may have blocked you or the user may not have an account.
Why does OneContact ask for certain permissions?

OneContact only requests permissions that support specific features:
Contacts - to one way sync your OneContact connections to your phone
Notifications - to alert you when someone updates their info
Camera & Photos - to add or update your profile and card photos
All permissions are optional, and you can manage or change them anytime in your device settings.
Do I need to allow contacts access?

Only if you want OneContact to sync contacts to your phone. The app works without it.
Can I bulk edit Tags or Cards?

Yes, navigate to Contacts, click "..." in the top right corner, click Edit Shared Card/Tag.
Using the sort feature before clicking the "Edit Shared Card/Tag" can help you sort the contacts in to groups.
Why isn’t my contact syncing to my phone?

Phone sync is optional and requires contact permissions. If permissions are denied, syncing won’t occur. Check your device’s settings to make sure OneContact has full contact access.
Why does a request say “Awaiting Response"?

The other person hasn’t accepted or declined the request yet. Once they respond, you’ll be notified and their shared contact details will appear in your contacts.
Does OneContact spam my contacts?

iCloud and Google Contacts store your copy of someone’s information. OneContact works through direct connections, so updates happen when the other person changes them, and you share what you want your connections to see. That means better privacy, clearer control, and fewer outdated details.
Why wouldn’t I just text people my new number?

I just added a connection but now I want don't want them to have my information, what can I do?

This is one of the reasons OneContact was developed. You have control of your data.
Find the contact in question, and click Disconnect. This will remove all their information and private notes from your contact list and will also immedietly remove your information from their contact list. They will not be notified of this.
If you want to take it step further, you can block them while going through the process above, or by finding them in Search and clicking Block.
If you block them, you will no longer be visible when they seach withing Search, and you would have to unblock via Requests & Blocks before any connection could be restablished.
Can I reactivate a deleted account?

If you requested account deletion, all data is permanently removed and cannot be recovered. If you simply signed out or stopped using the app, you can sign back in at any time to access your account and data.
Can features change over time?

Yes. We’re always improving OneContact, so features may evolve as we add updates and enhancements.
Is OneContact available outside the United States?

OneContact is currently available in the United States. We’ll share updates as availability expands.
What’s the difference between deleting the app and deleting my account?

Deleting the app removes OneContact from your device and stops features like phone syncing and notifications. Your account and connections remain active.
Deleting your account permanently removes your OneContact account and associated data on our servers. This action is cannot be undone and if you choose to use OneContact again, you will need to create a new account.
Can I have multiple cards?

Yes. You can create as many cards as you’d like and share each card with as many connections as you choose.
Can I change my email address?

Yes. You can update your email address in the Settings section of the app under your account information.
Can I use this to help with Wedding Invitations?

Yes! This is the best way to make sure you have the most recent information. Connect with all your guests within OneContact and rest assured the address you have in OneContact is correct!
I am a coach, can I use this app to share my phone number and email only?

Yes! This is a great use case for OneContact. By connecting with your athletes, or parents, you can create a card specific to that team and share only the email and phone number you want them to have.
Is there an age requirement to use OneContact?

You can reconnect at any time, and they can request to reconnect as well. If you want to prevent future requests, you can block the user via Search or during the disconnect process.
How do I report a problem or abuse?

What happens if OneContact is unavailable?

If OneContact is temporarily unavailable, your existing contact information remains unchanged. Updates will resume automatically once service is restored.
Where can I see updates if I miss a notification?

Unfortunately this is misleading, and a message we cannot control. We are not pulling any of your contacts from your phone in to OneContact. We only write from OneContact to your native contact app. However, for us to write contacts to you native contact app, this is the message Apple displays and you will need to allow full control for the sync to work correctly.
How can I tell which contact is from OneContact in my native contact app?

Why does OneContact require mutual connections?

OneContact uses mutual connections so updates are shared intentionally and privately. Both people must agree to connect, which ensures control, prevents unwanted sharing, and keeps information accurate.
What happens when I block someone?

Blocking prevents a user from connecting with you. If you’re currently connected, you must disconnect first. Disconnecting removes shared contact details (including Private Notes and Tags), and blocking stops future connection requests.
How do I block a user?

You can block a user in two ways:
From Search - Find the user in Search and block them directly.
From an existing connection — Open the contact, disconnect, then block the user from there.
Disconnecting removes shared contact details from both users’ devices. Blocking prevents the user from sending new connection requests or reconnecting.
