What is OneContact?

Basics

OneContact is a smarter way to manage your contacts. You connect once, and when someone updates their info (phone, email, address, name), it updates automatically for the people they’ve chosen to share it with.

No more outdated numbers. No awkward “is this still your email?” texts. Just always-up-to-date contact info—without the hassle.

How do I download OneContact?

Basics

You can download OneContact from the App Store or Google Play. Use the link below to get the correct version for your device:

How to add your social media handle so people can find you

Basics

To link your social media accounts in OneContact, you’ll need to enter the username or handle you use on each platform (not the full URL).

Your handle is the unique name people use to find you, usually shown with an @.

If you’re not sure where to find it, use the official resources below. These pages are maintained by each platform, so they’ll stay accurate even if layouts change.

Note: Some of the resources below explain how to change your username. You do not need to change anything — these pages also show you where to find your current username or handle, which is all you need for OneContact.

Do both people need OneContact?

Basics

Yes. OneContact works through mutual connections so updates are intentional, private, and controlled.

What kind of info can I share?

Basics

Whatever you choose: phone number, email, address, birthday, profile photo, and more.

What happens when I update my info?

Basics

Your changes instantly sync to the people you’re connected with—no texts, emails, or reminders needed.

What are Personal Notes?

Basics

Personal Notes let you add private reminders to fully connected contacts. These notes are only visible to you—your connection will never see them. You can use Personal Notes to remember details like relationships, context, or helpful reminders (for example, “Jim’s sister” or “Rec League Softball Coach”).

Can other people see my Personal Notes?

Basics

No. Personal Notes are for your reference only and are never shared. Since OneContact is designed for contacts to keep their own information up to date, Personal Notes help you remember details about that person when you need a reminder.

Where can I find updates or announcements about OneContact?

Basics

We share feature updates, improvements, and important announcements through the app and on our official social media channels. You can find all of our social links here:

OneContact Social Links

Is this a contact card or a social network?

Basics

Neither. It’s not social, and it’s not a static card. It’s a living contact that stays accurate.

What do the colored circles around my contacts mean?

Basics

Each contact has a colored ring that shows the status of your connection:

  • A glowing circle indicates the card you’re currently sharing with that contact

  • A gray circle means you’re not connected

This makes it easy to see who you’re connected with and what you’re sharing at a glance.

Why does a connection say “Reconnect”?

Basics

This means the connection was removed by you or the other person. You can send a new request by tapping Reconnect.

Why didn’t I get a connection request notification?

Basics

Check your device settings to make sure notifications are enabled for OneContact. If notifications are off, connection requests may still appear in the app but won’t trigger an alert.

Why is my password being rejected?

Basics

This usually means one of the password requirements is missing. Double-check that your password is at least 8 characters, includes upper and lowercase letters, a number, and a special character.

How do I reset my password?

Basics

If you’re signed in, go to Settings and tap Change Password. If you can’t log in, open the app, tap Already have an account, then select Forgot Password and follow the prompts.

How do I contact support?

Basics

You can contact us directly in the app by tapping Contact Us and filling out the form.

You can also email us at onecontact-contactus@behappyinnovations.com

How do I refresh or resync my data?

Basics

OneContact uses live connections, so updates sync automatically. If something looks out of date, close and reopen the app and make sure you have an internet connection.

How do I change what someone sees?

Basics

Edit the card you shared with that connection. Any changes to that card will update for everyone you’ve shared it with.

Why can’t I see all of someone’s information?

Basics

They control what they share. Not all fields are visible to every connection.

How do I turn phone sync on or off?

Basics

Phone sync can be turned on or off anytime from the Sync to Device section in app.

Why do I see duplicate contacts on my phone?

Basics

OneContact creates its own contacts group on your phone. If you already saved the same person from another source, both may appear when viewing all contacts together. OneContact contacts can’t be merged with existing contacts, so you can choose to keep or delete the other entry if needed.

Why am I not getting verification emails?

Basics

Check spam folders and confirm your email is correct.

I deleted the app and reinstalled it—why did things change?

Basics

Local settings like phone sync or notifications may reset, but your account data remains intact.

I logged in on a new phone—where is my data?

Basics

Sign in with the same method you originally used. Your account and connections will load automatically.

I connected to the wrong person—what should I do?

Basics

If the request hasn’t been accepted yet, you can find it in Requests & Blocks and cancel it. If the request was already accepted, simply disconnect from that user to stop sharing.

Why am I seeing multiple people with the same name?

Basics

OneContact shows real people, and names aren’t always unique. Tap a profile to view more details and confirm the correct connection before sending a request.

I can’t find someone in OneSearch—why?

Basics

You can search by username, first name, last name, email, or phone number. If none of those return results, they may have blocked you.

Why does OneContact ask for certain permissions?

Basics

OneContact only requests permissions that support specific features:

  • Contacts — to optionally sync your OneContact connections to your phone

  • Notifications — to alert you when someone updates their info

  • Camera & Photos — to add or update your profile and card photos

All permissions are optional, and you can manage or change them anytime in your device settings.

Do I need to allow contacts access?

Basics

Only if you want OneContact to sync contacts to your phone. The app works without it.

Why isn’t my contact syncing to my phone?

Basics

Phone sync is optional and requires contact permissions. If permissions are denied, syncing won’t occur. Check your device’s settings to make sure OneContact has full contact access.

Why am I not receiving updates from someone?

Basics

Open their contact details in your Contacts list. If you see an option to reconnect, the connection was removed by you or the other person. Reconnecting will restore updates once the request is accepted.

Why does a request say “Awaiting Response"?

Basics

The other person hasn’t accepted or declined the request yet. Once they respond, you’ll be notified and their shared contact details will appear in your contacts.

Does OneContact spam my contacts?

Skeptical & Real-World Questions

No. OneContact never messages or contacts anyone without your action. Connections and invites only happen when you choose.

What’s the catch?

Skeptical & Real-World Questions

There isn’t one. Just fewer “Hey, is this still your number?” moments.

Does this replace business cards?

Skeptical & Real-World Questions

It can—but more importantly, it replaces outdated ones.

What makes this different from iCloud or Google Contacts?

Skeptical & Real-World Questions

iCloud and Google Contacts store your copy of someone’s information. OneContact works through direct connections, so updates only happen when the other person chooses to share them. That means better privacy, clearer control, and fewer outdated details.

Why wouldn’t I just text people my new number?

Skeptical & Real-World Questions

Because people forget, miss messages, or save it wrong. OneContact removes the human error.

Can I reactivate a deleted account?

Account & App

If you requested account deletion, all data is permanently removed and cannot be recovered. If you simply signed out or stopped using the app, you can sign back in at any time to access your account and data.

Can features change over time?

Account & App

Yes. We’re always improving OneContact, so features may evolve as we add updates and enhancements.

Is OneContact available outside the United States?

Account & App

OneContact is currently available in the United States. We’ll share updates as availability expands.

Account & App

Deleting the app removes OneContact from your device and stops features like phone syncing and notifications. Your account and connections remain active.

Deleting your account permanently removes your OneContact account and associated data.

What happens when I disconnect from someone?

Trust & Reliability

When you disconnect, you’ll no longer see any information they shared with you, and they won’t see any information you shared with them. The only information visible after disconnecting is what each person has made publicly available in OneSearch. You can reconnect at any time, and they can request to reconnect as well. If you want to prevent future requests, you can block the user.

How do I report a problem or abuse?

What happens if I delete the app?

Updates & Syncing

Deleting the app stops phone syncing, but your OneContact account stays intact and your connections continue to update.

What if someone doesn’t have the app?

Updates & Syncing

You can share your OneContact card or QR code with them. They’ll be prompted to download the app and accept your connection. Or, they can sign up on their own and use OneSearch to find and connect with you.

Download OneContact

Will it change my phone’s contacts automatically?

Updates & Syncing

OneContact keeps its own synced contact info so you always know what’s current.

How fast do updates happen?

Updates & Syncing

Immediately. If they update it, you see it.

Why does OneContact require mutual connections?

Privacy & Security

OneContact uses mutual connections so updates are shared intentionally and privately. Both people must agree to connect, which ensures control, prevents unwanted sharing, and keeps information accurate.

What happens when I block someone?

Privacy & Security

Blocking prevents a user from connecting or reconnecting with you. If you’re currently connected, you must disconnect first. Disconnecting removes shared contact details, and blocking stops future connection requests.

How do I block a user?

Privacy & Security

You can block a user in two ways:

  1. From OneSearch — Find the user in OneSearch and block them directly.

  2. From an existing connection — Open the contact, disconnect, then block the user from there.

Disconnecting removes shared contact details from both users’ devices. Blocking prevents the user from sending new connection requests or reconnecting.

How does OneContact protect my data?

Privacy & Security

OneContact is built with privacy and security in mind. Your information is stored securely, access is limited to the connections you approve, and we do not sell or share your data.

Where can I read the Terms of Service?

Privacy & Security

You can read our full Terms of Service on our website. It outlines the rules, responsibilities, and conditions for using OneContact.

https://www.behappyinnovations.com/onecontact-terms-of-service

Our Privacy Policy is available on our website and outlines what information we collect, how it’s used, and the steps we take to keep it secure.

What are the password requirements?

Privacy & Security

Passwords must be at least 8 characters and include one uppercase letter, one lowercase letter, one number, and one special character. We require strong passwords to help protect your account and the sensitive information you choose to share. This added security helps prevent unauthorized access and keeps your data safe.

Do you sell or share my data?

Privacy & Security

No. Ever. Your data is yours.

Does OneContact read or upload my phone contacts?

Privacy & Security

No. OneContact does not upload or store your phone’s contacts. If you choose, it can one-way sync your OneContact connections to your phone so your saved contacts stay up to date—but your existing phone contacts are never copied into OneContact.

Can I stop sharing with someone?

Privacy & Security

Anytime. One tap, and the connection is gone.

Can I choose what each person sees?

Privacy & Security

Yes. You’re in full control—share different info with different people.

Who can see my information?

Privacy & Security

Only the people you explicitly connect with.
